For those of you avoiding dairy, this pesto will fulfill all your wishes. And for those of you who would like to throw in some cheese, be my guest! To be honest, when I created this recipe, I did not have parmesan cheese on hand and liked it so much I decided to move forward without it.
To create this recipe you will need: basil, pine nuts, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Place all ingredients into a blender and voila, delicious pesto in the making!

Classic Basil Pesto (Dairy Free)

Ingredients
3-4 cups basil leaves
¼ cup pine nuts
½ cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
Directions
- Place all ingredients in a blender
- Blend until smooth
- Enjoy 🙂
Notes
- You can add 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese if you prefer with cheese! It is delicious both ways:)
